NY Times Travel Show, Get a Free Pass

January 2016 Travel Article Newsletter

Hello paul de

GoNOMAD's December Travels:

Amsterdam and Rotterdam, Netherlands

In December we enjoyed the Amsterdam Light Festival and the new Michelin Stars of       the Netherlands. In Rotterdam we marveled at the innovative architecture, with water         all around. With the cities both aglow with holiday lights, and lively with new shows,           stores and festivals, it's a great time to visit the Netherlands.

Belize: Trading Butter for Bathing Suits

in San Pedro

It's the holiday season and one of the country's most revered pie-making debutantes is feeling the heat. No, she's not slaving away in the kitchen waiting for the dough to rise. She's on a tropical island in the Caribbean basking in sunshine on a pristine beach. It's a life swap that Debbie Klauber makes six months out of the year. READ MORE

Suffolk, England: A Perfect Place for a Family Getaway

The pretty Suffolk village of Lavenham was featured in 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' as 'Godric's Hollow', the birthplace of the world's most famous wizard. And as I pushed my baby daughter's pram passed its dozens of timber-framed medieval cottages on all sides, I felt like I was on a film set. READ MORE

A Bridge and the Rest of Cambodia

It is unlikely that one would think of a large metal bridge when they think about a holiday in Cambodia. Perhaps Angkor Wat and the many hundreds of historical temples would come to mind but a nondescript bridge probably wouldn't. Even so it remained unusually tempting to cross the structure that sunk its roots deep into the Kampot river.  READ MORE

The Hershey Train of Cuba

With that in mind and multiple due to people telling me that the electric train is NOT the way to go as if you might not ever get there I was in pursuit of the legacy that was Hershey.  And what is the fun in traveling if there is not a little glitch waiting to snag you up on.  Well, mine wasn't far off and it started from the get go.   READ MORE

Visiting the Bob Marley Museum and the Trench Town Culture Yard in Jamaica

Most people go to Jamaica for the beach resorts of Negril, Montego Bay, and Ocho Rios, but after two days of non-stop sightseeing in the company of a warm and welcoming people, Kingston gets my vote for a more interesting place to visit.
